  16. Floppy Drive Disk Error Correction

We recently discovered and corrected an error affecting the above series.  In some floppy drives a disk error was generated when a 720 KB diskette was inserted in a 1.44 MB drive.  The BIOS erroneously detected a 720 KB diskette as a 1.44 MB diskette.  This problem occurs only in certain 1.44 MB drives; 1.2 MB drives are not affected.

  21. The problem has been solved by modifying the media detection routine in the BIOS.  The following ECNs have been issued in the form of a BIOS release to correct the problem: Series 29, ECN29.003; Series 39, ECN39.005, and Series 43, ECN43.002.
